Should I stop treatment temporarily?

I have been taking an antiviral for the last one year. Now my results are HBV-DNA=Undetectable,Hbeag=Non-reactive,Hbsag=+ve,normal LFT and quite normal ultrasonography results(heterogeneous liver, small thick walled gall bladder). My doctor suggested me to stop the treatment temporarily (as long as hbv dna remains und.).He has only asked me to take a liver supplement ursodiol 300 for the next three months.I consulted another doctor who asked me to continue with my lamivudine 100 throughout my life. Now I am getting confused what to do now, whether to stop taking it temporarily or continue it?Can such kind of drugs be taken throughout life?I mean they might have side-effects,resistance etc....

You should absolutely know your hbsag in iu/ml to decide on stopping antivirals.

Lamivudine isnt advised for use, cos you run the riskof having mutations. The best antiviral to use which is relatively safe if Tenofovir. Will advise you make the switch to Tenofovir.
Will aso advise yu do a quantitative hbsag test so you can track your progress.
