thx for supporting me
some wherei have read about MILK THISTEL, that it is quite help-full in treatment of hepatits.
is it so?can u guide me more?
You really just need to take a deep breath and prepare to do some research. There is a lot that is unknown about Hep B and how to treat and when so we can't really give you an answer. Educate yourself and then you and your family will have to make the decision that seems best to you. Go to our Welcome page to help get you started.
If you are so concerned about your father having to take medication long term which is not without reason, you should seek a second opinion. Maybe your father is stable enough now such that monitoring is what is needed now.
frenckly speeking i am so much confused about my father's condition,
i am not able to decide that we should go for biopsy or not, nad the baraclude also,
coz my father is 52 only, with good physic and health (excpet HBeAg).
u people do batter know about disease and cure, but i am affaried about my father, coz he has to take baraclude life time, and i think no one can take any tab. life long, some times patient gets hasitate about medicine, some times some other heath problem occures in which one can not take some perticular kind of drug.
see i am so much worried and confuse.
i dont want to loos my father,
help me guide me.
thx for replying.
Do you have any idea how long your dad has been infected?
A liver biopsy is a good idea given his age.
Why are you worrying about stopping Baraclude? You should not stop taking Baraclude unless you do so under the care of a physician who can monitor for a flare. In some cases sudden cessation of antivirals will cause a viral rebound. But, you're not planning on stopping like that are you?
All antiviral drugs are chemicals with their respective negative effects. Other antivirals also have their risks when stopping.
That is why doctors recommend monitoring unless it becomes absolutely necessary to treat.
ok sir,
but as i told before, i have some dought on baraclude,
i am affared it may effect -ve after we stop it.
coz, when i visit the website of baraclude the says that
Your hepatitis B infection may get worse or become very serious if you stop BARACLUDE.
1. liver biopsy will help the doctor know your father's liver status more accurately.
2. If antiviral treatment is the route, Baraclude is one of the most potent drugs.
ok,
one of our doc. suggest that he need to do liver biopsy.
do u agree?
and can u please guide me about anti-viral treatement,
any drug that u trust.
I think your father may be treated or just monitored depending on which doctor he has.
If you are hesitant about his current doctor's recommendation, have a second opinion.
Best.
thx for replying,
ane you guide me what kind of symptoms?
right now he is living normal life, no weight loss, eating well etc.
ya he has one habit which i forgot to write,
he has habbit of smoking.
and can u guide me for antiviral treatement?
and u mean to say my father is quite on safer side?
please reply me
Does your father show any symptoms?
2007 guideline suggests antiviral treatment when ALT is 2x upper normal and HBV-DNA is >2000.
You could get a second opinion from a hepatologist.
