it is normal to lose weight on intf treatment, unless you are very underweight it is very beneficial to your health and to your immune response being overweight it is bad for both liver and immune system
My bmi is now 20.6. Is it ok?
Will update you guys about my treatment when my next follow up in end July.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am also on intf and had lost about 8 kg till date.
My weight had become stable.
Treatment duration: 9 months at present...
Hope this helps
just check blood tests as prescribed by doctors, bmi less than 20 might be a problem but i think the doctors will take care of checking your status
Hi Cyrus and Mrt79,
Any noticeable sides from IFN? Also, are you fellows on mono or combo?
I lost 4kg in the past 3 months from just healthy diet.
Except the low platalet and WBC counts and sometimes mild fever, I have no other sides.
Thanks. Hopefully your upcoming result is as good as Paris. I am about to go on IFN in 4 weeks time after 18 months on ETV and 18 months without any medication thereafter.
Good luck.
I also did lose some kgs.. some hair thninng and then almost no sides in both IFN courses (the last one lasted 58/60wks with 135mg shots)
Dear Grmr,
Thanks for your reply. May I know if we will gain weight after stopping the IFN treatment? My doctor said the weight loss is due to increased metabolism during IFN treatment.
Regards,
Cyrus
I started around 79kg - stress ate me really badly before treatment.
After starting IFN I jumped back to around 82kg.
