What should I feed Hep. B Acute patient?

I like to find out what I can cook for my husband.  He has Hep B at acute stage.
His current GPT and GOT is extremely above the norm.

What kind of food can I prepare for him?  and what should I avoid?

Thank you all for the input...

He is still in the hospital in Taiwan.  His GPT is now 1551 and GOT 472.  However, his Total Bilirubin is 2.4 which worries me.

I'm trying to educate myself to take good care of him when he returns next month.  The plan is to continue the treatment here in USA.  Whenever the Doc can release him, which is wait for T. Bil to go down to normal.... >____<

I'm gathering some recipes before his return.

Good post by cajim...in addition:

Be careful with herbs.  Some are known to be toxic to the liver.  Comfrey is one.  Look online for the others.  I will try to find the list later.

Be careful with foods high in iron.  For some reason the virus seems to love iron.  Red meat is one source of iron so keep it to a minimum.

A noted Hep Researcher who posts here recommends embedding all of your proteins in vegetables to slow down the process of digestion which eases the burden on the liver.  That means eating veggies (especially leafy greens like salad) with protein rich foods.

How is your husband doing now?

    * Avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol speeds the progression of liver disease.
    * Avoid medications that may cause liver damage. Your doctor can advise you about these medications, which may include over-the-counter (OTC) medications as well as prescription drugs. It's especially important to avoid using acetaminophen (Tylenol, others), which can cause liver damage even in healthy people.
    * Eat the healthiest diet you can. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. Healthy foods help keep you strong, give you more energy and support your immune system. If you're nauseated, try eating small meals throughout the day. Choose foods that are soothing and easy to digest, such as soups, broths or a plain baked potato. A registered dietitian can be especially helpful if you have weight loss or trouble eating.
    * Get regular exercise. Exercise helps increase your strength and energy levels.
    * Get enough sleep. Rest when you need to.
