can hbsag be a fals positive?

My wife for 1 Year and i  got a blood test and it came back hbsag positive on my test my wifes test says hbsag and hbsab negitive can my test be fals ?

if alt stays higher than 19 or even higher than 40 and hbvdna more than 100iu/ml the drug is useless

you should wait 6 months and if hbsag is still positive and hbvdna detactable stop that drug and use tenofovir (viread, tenvir or tavin, choose the cheapest)

Will the drugs im takeing do anything bad to me in the long run  Or make me resistent to drugs when i need them, if i am now hbsag+hbsab-hbeag-?

doctor looks expert probably you cannot afford effective hbv drugs and he has used a cheaper russian drug, i didn t know about it, it is an interferon inducer with no sides effect.the problem is it is from russia so it is not easy to know if it can really work on hbv or just uselss

let us know if it works, if it is cronic it will take years of therapy even wit interferon itself and only in the case you are a responder.to see if it is working you should check hbvdna and alt/ast, also hbsag quantitative is very very usefull but it is not available in US/canada so i guess it is the same in your country too, but try anyway assay is not very expensive

I live in lao PDR it is varry poor country .i dont think the Dr is up to date on HBV becuse the dr just brushed me off and and gave me medicine from russia . cycloferon ,it is 0.25g of acridone acetic acid and 0.193g of meglumine ,12.5% solution for injection  2ml every 2 days for 1 month. and chophytol , artichoke 200mg tablets 3times a day for 20 days .then come back for retest.  shuld l retest befor the 30 days ? or take all the  medicine 1st befor i retest?  Thank you for comments .it help me out alot

false positive is 99.9% not possible, virology tests must have a confermatory test in case positive, plus you probably passed infection to your wife, ask people in close contact with you and family to check for it and make vaccine if negative

retest anyway but make a full hbv markers pannel test (single hbsag test is not used anymore at least in countries where saving money on health is not important) and hbvdna pcr test bexause hbsag alone is not enough to exclude hbv infection (there are cases of hbsag negative hbv infection called occult hbv)

on the contrary a false negative is easily possible if old assays are used
