HCV-Ab Positive

What does this means?
Am from Kenya and work in Saudi Arabia. I went for medical checkup and i was told i have HCV-Abs! I don't know much about arabic but what i understood from the Arab doctor is that its a liver disease. he keeps on telling me am ok but am worried, haven't heard about this disease.
Can somebody tell me what this is? and is it serious? should i worry?

Hcv is a disease that u really need to get treatment for. You can live with it for a while but it only gets worse with time. God bless i hope u

It means you were exposed to Hepatitis C virus.  You will need to have HCV DNA test to know if you have chronic infection.  To learn more, I suggest you post your questions in hepatitis c forum.  This is hepatitis b forum.  They are both liver diseases, but different.
