another good thing to know, interferon hbeag negative achieved is durable while hbeag negative by nucs is only termporary if you stop nucs you return to hbeag pos

the only durable endpoint off therapy is hbsag negative

with the hbeag there is also a thrid way, which is the worst, hbeag positive and hbeab positive at the same time.these are mutants with fast evolution to cirrhosis/cancer

also hsag positive and hbsab postive are rare mutants with fast evolution to cirrhosis/liver cancer

these are all dangerous mutants, if you block/lower hbvdna by tdf you reduce chances of getting these mutants very much and have still good chances to clear hbsag despite hbsag level

treating before you turn to hbeag negative may prevent the bcp and precore mutants and then you can still clear hbsag easily

once you are hbeag negative the virus has already escaped most of your immune response and hbsag clearance is very very very low

follow my advice see the best specialists at bergamo hbv center, keeping in mind that not all doctors in the same department are good, look for researchers or most famous names.
if you can get to milan pitro lampertico at ospedale maggiore is one of the best researcher with brunetto in pisa worldwide

i think you are seeing very bad doctors maybe 5 years back on hbv studies which is a total different universe

my mother had wildtype, she used to go back to hbeag positive to make hbvdna detactable

my sister was also hbeag positive and made hbeag negative by interferon, maybe she reversed some liver damage by that treatment but no effect on hbv virus maybe just suppressed development of some mutants.she didn t check core, bcp yet, very lazy.she didn t see researchers and since liver has no damage she is left with yearly checkups

i was hbeag neg already at 16-17yo with no hbeab and hbvdna und, at 18-19yo i had hbeg pos, high hbvdna and alt 1500 for 6 months, probbly about to clear hbv or infected with another virus
turned hbeg neg and hbeab pos, hbvdna for some years then slowly to detactable hbvdna, probably the eminus mutants

my immune system has always been very active with alt flares at 700-1000 many times almost yearly and then back to very low hbvdna.in 2009 500.000iu/ml hbvdna made alt 600 or higher

all this just made cirrhosis, so as you can see here hbeag negative is just bad and useless

yes of course but as i said 1000 times hbeag has no meaning, hbeag is something from my childhood, nowadays we know it means almost nothing to clearance or inactive carrier it just means worsening because hbeag neg has the eminus mutants

anyway if you go from hbeag neg to hbeag pos you dont have precore yet or if you have it it is still mixed wild type plus eminus mutants

be aware that if you go to hbeag negative out of treatment it is 99% a mutation to eminus with much much less chances to clear.a smart thing is treat as soon as possible before you go to the eminus mutants

the hbeag negative is not a good thing because it is just the virus which eliminates hbeag to escape immune pressure and gain replication ability again
