lovastatin hbsag decrease in vitro

Polyunsaturated liposomes are antiviral against hepatitis B

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2951407/

i didn t check the images on this article previously, fig 2 has very interesting data, it shows a decrease of hbsag to 60% by lovastatin i guess using the higest non toxic dose

lovastatin decreases only hbsag (no effect on hbvdna) by decreasing cholesterol content of hbsag infectivity of hbv is impared by fusion interference

the higher the dosage the better but since sim may have sides on liver it is better to start with 20mg or 40mg and then check if there is any rise of alt/ast if not you can try the higher dosages

there is a post with link in the community where a doctor suggested how to use statins for viral infections

also check ketaconazole post, it is even more potent than statins but it has also liver toxicity so it must be used checking alt/ast monthly
