The medicine was covered by my insurance and that's my portion pay or copay they call it.
so where did you get the less expensive viread?
i agree with your specialist, stopping viread so soon after starting will not cause extra harm.
it is however known, that post partum, due to the recurrence of increased immunity hepatitis flares are possible. During pregnancy, the extremely high levels of progesterone reduce immune reactivity, to prevent rejection of the fetus.
So my question.. If I start and stop, which specialist are out of town. My doc said liver test is good. Is it fatal if I stop viread?
According to my specialist today, it is safe to stop viread after birth. Won't harm mom or baby. This question came up because here Inthe USA, the medicines are so expensive. I bought mine for 50 pieces for $285. With no
Insuranxe, even with Viread copay assistance.. It would still cost 700-1000 per 30 day suply. ***** huh?
it may change a lot when not treated
Is that static to amount of replication if not on antiviral? Or that rate is variable?
2 zeros less, for example from 10000 to 100
By the way... Sorry I'm. It versed with all the verbiage but when you mean 100 folds.. Do you mean baseline VL divided by 100? Or it could go down by 100's. Sorry if it's a stupid question.
Thank you for your response.
As answered before, it will be at least 100 fold less, probably more. Baby will benefit. But you should not have waited so long.
I just got my Meds. I am wondering if 38 days is enough to lower viral load using viread. I have a schedule c section on July 10 or 11th. If so.. You think I can get low enough to benefit baby? I know no guarantee.
I am so torn right now too. I wrote you please check your PM
I think the part that scares me is the relapse. My first doc told me that most patients that come off a drug will relapse and I would have to resume taking antivirals which is why he said to monitor only for the time being. But that was a while back so I don't know if things has changed.
My doc told me the same thing, that you take it during pregnancy and you can get off of it when you have your baby.
From 5% to 2%... I am going back and forth whether or not that's a substantial difference.
So I went to see the specialist today. He says I'm immune tolerant stage. No liver damage and all test good as he can see. He tells me that probability of baby getting without treatmemt is 5% and with treatment 2%. He says can stop when baby comes. So can breastfeed. I know others here don't stop but I think that's their treatment guide meant here at KP. If meds are taken, chances of relapse after pregnancy is there. He says relapse is unlikely but it could happen. Also.. Chances of waking up the immune system could happen as well. Ohhhh decisionszzzz....
Thank you. I'm so worried about short term and long term.
dont worry lot you will harm your baby by your stress.
if i were yo i will just fellow what my hépato order for me.
dont buy product randemly on net.think of side effects on your baby.
try to calm down and ask your doc about all your fears.
My husband and I talked after my liver specialist told me about the taking antivirals and my husband said regardless, he would of leaned towards me not taking antivirals. The doctors say there's no effects on the baby, but do we really know what effects it can have in 5 years or 10? He said he's not willing to risk that and have me be on drugs for potentially the rest of my life. Who knows, maybe I will have to get on it eventually, but for now, I don't need it.
I told my husband that if I knew during my third trimester, I would of taken it. He said he would of talked me out of it. Today, since my baby is okay, I am happy I didn't have to deal with your tough decision.
whatever your decision is, that's the right thing to do. :)
Thank you. I having that issue right now. I have one day to decide. Lifetime treatment if I start. But safe for baby. I'm crying inside. I hope God give me strength.
Also, please note I am currently living in Hong Kong where 1 in 10 people have hep B. So for my baby's pediatrician to say it has never failed him is pretty awesome.
One piece of advice he gave me which helped is to stop googling :). He said without a medical background, it's just "googling", it's not research and it's not helpful. Once I stopped reading stuff online, my nerves calmed a lot.
Tenvir has the same strength and quality as Gileads drug. Ciplas medications are fully quality controlled.
Please note the HBIG and the immunization shots that they give at birth are very effective. My baby's pediatrician says he has yet to see the shots fail and he's been practicing for over 30 years. I hope this gives you a little comfort.
