HCV Cruise

I'm thinking of planning a cruise to raise money for HCV awareness and put the real face of HCV to the world. (Not eh Pamela Anderson or Willy Nelson face but our faces) I'd give all proceeds to this cause. Do you think I'm crazy or would no one go because of the stigma and they'd be afraid?

Bug, You crack me up. Hairless Awareness. Are we sticking bows in its hair too?
Travelwhim: I'm the spontaneous type. Once I finish tx, I'd love to join you on the seas. Only I probably will head to Bangkok first to see my dentist. Wanna sail out of S.F. headed east?

Awareness is exactly what it would be. With speakers and everything. I'm not staying home because I'm hcv. I'm going out educating and telling everyone that will listen.

I also wouldn't mind cruising the high seas with people just like myself with HCV and trading notes and making friends and brainstorming on how we can make a difference. But that's just my opinion. Everyone is intitled to one.

Still not getting good vibes on the whole hair ball thing, huh? How about if I dress the idea up a little.

The first thing I envisioned from you post topic was nausea on the high seas.
I watched the AIDs epidemic from wondering why my friends were dying of weird diseases to seeing the community gather together and organize for AIDS awareness and cash funding, I think there first needs to be some education before people are going to plunk down cash for cruises. Just like AIDs had to fight the stigma of being the 'gay disease' we have to fight the stigma of being,' that druggie disease.' Roche did a campaign with posters about getting tested for HCV. All the people on them look like druggies or homeless Vietnam Vets.
