Thats some good info. I didnt even realized that there are stages. I'll try to do some more research on that. Thank you!
As for the HepB DNA...I didnt see anything like that on the lab results. The blood test was done as an underwriting process for life insurance, which of course was denied. I tested positive for the HBsAG and HBeAG though. So should i request a test that includes that? Is that the more significant indication of liver damage?
Thank you for your help!
AST(936) ALT(1296) is more indicative of some sort of acute hepatitis. ALT and AST could be significantly elevated during the immuno-clearance phase of chronic HepB but it's usually not that high, it could be I guess. I think your doctor just needs to run more test to find out what's going on.
Do you know your HepB DNA numbers?
ALT and AST and enzymes primarily stores in liver cells, and when they get injured and die, the enzymes leak into your bloodstream, elevated those numbers.
I got more info through your previous post. I hope the your treatments go well. I truly appreciate you taking your time to reply to my post even when you're going through complications yourself. Good luck with your treatment! :)
Only on special occassions...3 times a year maybe? I do have HBV though...which i found out over ten years ago.
AST(936) ALT(1296) mean liver function is not normal. Do you drink?
Thanks for your reply cajim,
Other abnormal numbers from the lab test:
BILI. TOT : 1.3
GGT: 94
I just did some more research and it seems that these numbers only represent the amount of enzymes within my system so does that mean that liver function is normal?
I don't know what the above number represents though.
They are possible and they are high. What other tests you need depend on the status of your liver. Apart from AST(936) ALT(1296), what other lab readings do you know?
