I would not base much on the responses from your poll here - it's simply not  a large enough sample size. If you look up the Mangia and Von Wagner studies on shortened treatment for RVRs you'll get some good data on GT 3a RVR with 16 weeks and with 24 weeks total tx.

FWIW - I was 3a, stage 4, RVR and SVR'd with 26 weeks and weight based riba. With full compliance my docs told me I was at 90+ percent odds at 26 weeks.

Hi Gail,

I was GT 3a, low viral load and had RVR at week 4 (under 5ml/iu). Last PCR was 6 weeks post tx and still clear. With 3a and your liver is in good shape, the odds are very high of SVR if you have RVR. Have you started tx yet?

I looked at some of your earlier posts.  You seem to indicate that your doc is agreeable to stylizin' treatment at little bit.  You wrote about weight-based riba. I think that's the way to go.  In addition, you might talk to him about pre-dosing riba for a week or so before the first Peg.  A few people, including me, have tried that with generally good results. With aggressive treatment in mind the doc and I did a few things which resulted in me getting to UND after two weeks (Geno 3),

If it's available to you, the ideal situation would be to get a pcr at week two and then every week thereafter until you reach indetectable. Then, you could back off the frequency.  For those early ones, until undetectable, fairly sensitive down to 50, 43 or 5 ml/iu.  After that reala sensitivity is a nice to have but not as crucial as the early ones.
