I actually got my last one in less than 48 hrs but I don't wait for my doc to give me the results, I get them directly from the lab
For my husband, we receive the results back within a week, usually 5 days depending upon the day of the week and how it lines up with the weekend. Don't worry, you'll get used to the waiting game. It is what it is and getting the results sooner doesn't change them.

My chemistry results were always back within 2-4 days, but the PCR always took about 7-9.
5 days for me. Once on my final PCR I got it back in 4 days........but I think my doctor was as anxious as me. Dont worry Doof you'll get used to it. It will always suck waiting to find out............................but you sort of get used to it and it's a part of the process. We are NOT a patient group though.
A standard PCR takes about 3-4 days, but it depends on the lab and the type of PCR. Sometimes it takes longer if the blood is drawn at a hosptial lab as opposed to a national lab. National labs such as Labcorp, has a sensitive PCR called QuantaSure which can detect HCV down to 2 IU/mL and it takes 3 weeks for results to return whereas Quest Diagnostics has a PCR called Heptimax with a sensitivty down to 5 IU/mL and it takes about a week I think.
And good luck with the treatment, I am doing the triple tx with telaprivir and it has been pretty rough, but I have been undetectable for the hepc virus since week 4 now in week 16.
