Wow, I am amazed that they told you your VL drop on a double blind trial!!!

Anyway, I wrote an awfully long blurb about the statistics for the Phase 1 R7128 trial I was on last year on your previous 2 log drop post, I hope you read it, cos it took me ages to write!!

I won't repeat it all here but it sure sounds like you are on the real drug and you chances are very high to reach UND at 4 weeks.  Correlating percentages of RVR to SVR (for R7128) are not available as patients are not yet at the 6 months post tx PCR point but one would hope that they bring to the same starting line as anyone who achieves an RVR on SOC, if not more.  I think you will start hearing SVR rates from previous trial participants during October.

How much R7128 are they giving you daily, for how long and what Riba dose are you on?

Epi.

A PCR two days after your shot? I've never ever heard of that before........are you in a trial?  that's simply amazing most of us have trouble getting a four WEEK PCR not a two DAY PCR!!!!!!!!  ASTOUNDING!  Are you at a special teaching hospital or something like that?

it took a week, so when i went for my third appt i found out my first pcr # taken 2 days after first shot and it was a two log drop so i am hoping i am und right now, i pray.  and yes they take extremely good care of me. my biopsy was also a breeze. can't believe i was so scared for so long.

Also remember - there are lots of tweaks that they have discovered medically that do in fact change the percentage rate. Ie: knowing about 4 week PCR importance and extension after week 12.....that do bring the odds up significantly.

You are on your second shot? If that is correct and you've already had a 2log drop you are in great shape and should be UND by week 4 I'd imagine. I never heard of anyone being monitored this carefully but you're lucky most people complain that they can't get enough.

How long is it taking for the PCR to come back = they usually take a week or so?

Oops, I should read more carefully. A 2 log drop that quickly is excellent and probably does increase your chances of SVR. Great news!

Good luck Diane. Some docs are super careful with monitoring. It's not a bad thing. In fact it is good. Lots of patients don't realize how fast things can go bad with their counts. So better safe than sorry.

If you're on standard of care, Peg/riba, your chances for SVR are about 45% if you are geno 1 and 85% if you are geno 2 or 3. Lots and lots of good luck for a continued easy time and an SVR.
