drink lots of water and have on hand the occasional sports drink to replenish electrolites, etc.

the idea of having extra meds is a good one.  If you mess up a shot, etc. it is nice to know you have extras.  I was given an extra 4 weeks supply.  So if you can, go for it.

Check ou the health pages, there are a few simple pages. Before starting TX (short for treatment) I compiled some pages from gathering the different experiences of people here on the board. It was very helpful for me to do this and to look at while I was treating.

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=65

They are called DO's on HCV TX, DON'Ts on HCV TX, HCV TX Shopping list and HCV TX rescue drugs.

There is also a really good list of acronyms someone made ages ago. With that list it will be easier for you to understand all the abbreviations we tend to use here on the board.

One good advice I've heard from people is to have about 2 weeks extra meds stocked up at home, as some people have had problems refilling the prescriptions. It seems that there are sometimes mess ups between whoever does that and the pharmacies.

We don't have that problem here in Denmark, as the hospital gives us the meds at our check ups.

Good luck with your treatment!!!

You most probably will not feel much different for the first few weeks. It takes time before the meds reach a certain concentration in the body. Very few have a very strong reaction to their first shot. For most it is almost uneventful, besides the hype of doing the first shot etc. It can be quite an anticlimax... But everyone reacts differently, so be prepared for anything!
