If your wife tested Positive to the first test (probably an antibody test), then either it was a false positive OR she had been exposed to Hepatitis in the past and her body was able to fight it off. If she had Hepatitis C in the past and her immune system was able to fight it off by itself, then she does not have the active Hepatitis C disease. She is not infected so she cannot pass the disease to anyone else. However, she will always have the antibodies in her blood.
If your wife tested Negative to the RNA/PCR test then your wife does NOT have active Hepatitis C and she does NOT need treatment.
If the RNA/PCR test was negative, meaning your wife does NOT have active Hepatitis C, then you cannot catch hepatitis from her because she does not have the disease. In addition, your family is not in danger because your wife does not have active Hepatitis C.
Best of luck to you and your family.
.i made blood HCV test for my wife possitive then Doctor told me make test PCR test. PCR test is Negitive. is there my wife she need treatment or no? .
Sir my wife RNA/PCR test is Negitive.i have large family so any treatment & I pls tell me safty precaution its need or no?
and about my other family also its need or no?
thanks sir
If your wife has tested positive by an RNA/PCR test then she has active infection and a discussoin would be warraented with her doctor about futher testing ( ie. a geno type test and possiby a biopsy to ascertain the amont of liver dmage(fibrosis ) she may have). and possibly treatment available.
Therapy today with a triple med regime is approx. 70 -80 % succesful (depending on many factors)
Good luck and welcome...
