About hair falling?!

hello everyone :o)

I would like 2 know is there any solution to reduce from the the hair falling??
I have no side effects except my hair started falling about two months ago, and I finished now 20 weeks!
I know it's normal because of the treatment but is there anything i can do to reduce from the falling?

Unfortunately not. I too just finished tx. Its beginning to grow!
I started losing it around week 8-and los about 75-80% of it. I got hit hard in the hair dept.
I also had severe plaque in scalp and ears which made everything worse.
Luckily it will grow back !!!

Take good care.

I starting losing mine about week 12.  I've been using non-chemical shampoo/conditioner, and have just let it grow but wear it up all the time.    Same as Isabella, I haven't had to wash it as often as it's just not oily any more.

I've just finished 6 months tx last week, and of course, am still losing hair at the same rate....   No-one else has noticed the thinning, but if it continues, I may look at going 'short'.   My thyroid has been acting up so I'm guessing it's contributed.

I'll make a note in my journal to let you know how I get on :-)...

My hair started to fall out in about week 20.  Like Trinity I noticed it fell out in cycles.  I washed it infrequently with mild shampoo.  I did color a few times during tx, but did not notice that it made the hair loss worse.

Don't lose heart, it will grow back.

I've lost around 30 percent and I'm at week 40.  I use Schwarzkopf Hair Products and color.  It is a little more expensive than most but well worth the extra money.  Very gentle and hair is shiny and seems fuller.  I also cut my hair like Katie Holmes and it looks real cute.
It started falling out around week 20 - 25  I think and has stopped for now.  It appears to me it falls out in cycles.  This is a good cycle right now.
Don't worry, when we finish tx is will grow back and if I need to buy a wig I will.
Good Luck

I noticed some hair loss at week 17 and again starting at week 21.

I am doing as little as possible as far as styling and shampooing.  Because my scalp is so dry it is producing very little oil so I can go 3-4 days between washing.  No blow drying at all.  And I do use the nioxin.  It was expensive tho, and I don't know that it has made any real difference.  I think just pampering it has been the biggest help.

A nice blunt cut makes it look fuller.  I would guess I have lost maybe 10-15% so far.  I have colored my hair throughout tx-not to say that is a wise decision, but it's what I have done.

Good luck to you =)

I don't think anyone has come up with a real good solution to the hair issue while on Tx.  Some suggest that Nioxin shampoo and conditioner help with hair loss but others say they don't notice any difference when using it.  I'm in week 16 of TX and I, too, am losing hair (I don't use Nioxin products but I do use organic shampoos to cut my exposure to unnecessary chemicals).  I've cut my hair shorter (from shoulder length to chin length) and I added bangs to hide the thinning areas in the front of the crown.  So creative styling has helped me tremendously.

My doc suggested not processing the hair in any way while on TX (coloring, perming, etc) but I know that many of the members here have continued to color their hair with the less-harsh products (I don't know the names but others might).

Make sure your doc is keeping an eye on your thyroid level (TSH) because low thyroid can contribute to hair loss.

Another suggestion has been to wash your hair less and to avoid the hot setting on the blow dryer...etc.  In other words, be kind to your hair...but you probably already have been just as I am...but it keeps thinning.
