Dec. '02 I had severe fatigue. Went to doc. lab work showed hep c
I also had joint pain.
Went to GI in feb '03
v/l 10 million
had biopsy stage 3 grade 2
started tx 3/28/03 peg-intron and rebetol
sides were very bad, I had every side except mouth sores. at week 12 I was undetectabe also after week 48.
Meds were procrit, effexor, ativan, ambiem, vioxx
I had 2 major breakdowns where I just wanted to quit.
But I stuck it out. I still get very teary eyed when I talk about it. Still taking effexor, vioxx and have switched from ambien to trazodone, and take the ativan only when needed.
I am seeing a Rhematologist for fibromyalgia, and will be seeing a dermatologist in a couple of weeks for a skin problem.
My PCP is a D.O. and is great.
While on tx, I did not have much of a appetite. Ate alot of oatmeal, macaroni, chicken. I had no desire for red meat. Drank tons of water, and alittle green tea.
I mainly just listened to my body and let it tell me when to rest.
VERY, VERY COOOL!!!
BIG CONGRATULATIONS. Thanks for posting your excellent news and sharing it with everyone. All the best to you and yours.
