Anyone taken Fluvastatin in combo with tx?

I just read a recent article (March 31) about Fluvastatin enhancing HCV response in combo with SOC.

Search Fluvastatin

Has anyone on the forum had first hand experience with it? I'm just searching for all options.
Thanks, Rhonda

statement should have read:
"at least simvastatin seemed the best 2nd statin in conjunction with hcv tx at the time."

When discussing the treatment plan 3 years ago, we had asked my husband's hepatologist about it, but reception was lukewarm.  My husband was already on simvastatin for high cholesterol, but docs were hesitant to switch him because he was doing well, so I consoled myself to the fact that at least simvastatin seemed the 2nd best statin.  Since then, though, there has been a lot more support as Bill points out above, and if you search the archives, you'll find lots of good data, though I can't say if I recall any one individual using it and reporting it here.  Maybe if some one has they'll pop in and let us know their experience.

Good for you, Rhonda, on being proactive with your curiosity... it's obvious you're educating yourself and doing some research... wishing you lots of luck on your journey. ~eureka

I never used a statin as an adjunct to HCV therapy myself, Rhonda. However, talking with other folks locally, I hear my old GI doc has been adding them in routinely. There are a number of abstracts just now being released from the EASL (European Study of the Liver) conference last month in Berlin:
