Best time to take meds??

I will start tx soon and would like some input as to the best time to take meds, injection once a week and oral meds every 8 hours.   My five y/o grand daughter, and her mom (full time college student) live with me.  I was thinking Thurs. or Fri. for injection (would like to attend church Sun) and 6am, 2pm, and 10pm for oral meds.

Regarding fiber pills/supplements.  I have been taking Cascara Sagrada (aged tree bark) for quite some time. I assume that it falls into that catagory. I wont be taking them in the future and hope/pray, that I have not messed up my chances for UND.  I am a 1a, stage 3, week 15 and a slow responder.

Thanks for your post  I have so much to learn.

Definitely take the pills with food.  The manufacturer says to take them with a meal that contains a good amount of fat.  I take my morning pills with a yogurt smoothie and evening pills with some slices of avocado.  Good luck.

Welcome and good luck with your venture.....

Just want to warn you I took my shot on Thursday nights and Sundays were my worst days.  Maybe I should have gone to church because those days I was in need of an exorcism!

We all respond differently though.  Some feel their worst right away, others (myself) right in the middle when the med was at his highest peak I suppose.

Fl guy right on about the pills, am and pm doses....WITH FOOD/GOOD FATS.  And yes, if you can a few hours before night night because it can make you suffer from insomnia.  I used Tylenol PM sometimes to help with that.

Not sure if you have been told this or not, but don't take fiber pills/supplements with your riba....could absorb/interfere with effectiveness.

Good luck and stay tuned here for help and support!

Many people inject the Peg on Friday evenings so that they have the weekend to recover somewhat for a work week starting Monday.  The dayt doesn't really matter as long as you stick to the schedule that you establish.  As for the oral meds, if you mean ribavirin, most people take in two swallows; morning and evening.  Think about taking it with meals and not late in the evening because it can interrupt sleep.  Church is a good idea, you'll need all the help you can get.
