Boceprevir Trial Update - Post Treatment

Hi All,

It's been awhile since I posted anything, been lurking occasionally, but the last several months of treament I didn't feel like doing much of anything.
As some here may know, I started the Boceprevir (Sprint II) trial in November and finished after 28 weeks of treatment in May, four weeks of SOC then 24 weeks with SOC and Boceprevir. I wanted to wait until after the four week lab results to post anything, I just received them yesterday and am still undetected and everything else is back in normal range. I will go for the twelve week labs in August.
It took the first three to four weeks for the sides to go away, no more rashes and the itching is gone. I also have more energy than I know what to do with, even the wife is saying "slow down a little", but it feels to good, think I'll ride it as long as I can :). Take care all and hang in there, the light at the end of the tunnel is on the horizon.

welcome to the forum. it really is a life saver...you should start your own thread so you can get specific feedback from members, and also look at the date of the original post; 2009. it's outdated.

While serfing the net I saw this site and hope to learn as much as possible about the Boceprevir treatment.

My husband started his first shot last night and we are anxious and don't know what to expect.

Hopefully we will be able to glean some information from you all that the docs wont or cant tell us. And we will both share what we know.

Good for you!

No burst on stopping, but a fine, steady increase.  My bursting feeling was excitement and great relief to quit. The PT/PTT was one of those once in a while tests, like TSH. Everything got normal on TX except PT/PTT.  Maybe I'll ask to order it if they won't be doing it.  MY ANC, platelets were a disaster by the end, hgb at10.2.  I also want to see that EOT bloodwork to compare to 4 wk. post.

Now you've got me interested in the cholesterol test results!  With sick liver I always had low #'s.  Who knew that was bad?  The rising (but perfectly in range) cholesterol has been a little concerning, even though I know it's normal and a good sign for liver recovery.

Flying out of country on Friday (hoping they come back Thursday!) and want blood results so bad I will take a SASE and ask them to mail them so at least they'll be there when I return.  Gonna be great to go back to clinic without the horrible bag of stuff.  I know I feel pretty good but want actual proof.

Platlets at EOT = 185
Platlets at FU W4 = 301

Unless I'm not seeing it PT/PTT is not on either EOT or FU W4 labs??

One I did think was amazing, triglycer went from 290 at EOT to 92 at FU W4. Also, cleared between weeks 5-6. Did you get a burst of energy after the drugs stopped?

All to best on your week four follow up. You should have them by the end of the week!

Thanks for posting.  I am in same trial, same arm and going for my 4 wk. post Monday.

All the bloodwork came back in range?  That really excites me to think about!!!

Did you happen to notice number on your your platelet count and if PT/PTT normalized (if it was ever out of range)?
