so sorry about your friend, sounds like a way OD. was he under an endocrinoilogist's care?
Mine uppd my dose in mini amount once a month, labs as indicators. If someone gave him a full does to start with, eek,,,it takes time for the body to adjust to a younger metabolism. If he was incorrectly treated, there could be a legal case. I know there a quite a few quack md's offering it. they don't understand thr substance or it's risk, they just know rich folk and athletes with pay thousand per month...hope he didn't go to one of them.
wee, Hey, I stopped remembering name 20 years ago with this virus...getting better now...
but look at the bright side, at least you still knew it was your neighbor!!!! some days, we just gotta take what we get, and be glad of it.
I will tell you the brain fog is all but gone, and the groth hormonr is responsible for this.I hope it lasrs cause the last 2 or 3 years I was almost vegetative. On many levels its hekping me regain whats beeb lost.
Your mind and memory slip when the pituitaty doesn;t work, it effects thyroid and hypothakymus, ergo short and long term memory do a nose dive. ..
I agree the brain fog is really hard to deal with.
It's getting worse for me and I still have 28 weeks (for a total of 72) to go.
I'm so glad I bought the Nintendo Brain Age when i started TX. Despite how 'foggy' I feel, my rating has either remained stable or even improved in some areas.
Maybe we're just really hard on ourselves? I dunno. Sometimes that's when i think but other times, when I can barely string a 3 word sentence together I'm convinced it's NOT all in my head.

Thanks for all your contributions. I got some gingko biloba today. Of course, because I was on tx almost a year my younger son says, "Mom, you have always been that way." Give me a break! The nurse practitioner assured me it will go away in time.
OH: That's a very funny story. Sorry about your concussion.
I feel so clear headed after those months of tx! And my sister who doesn't have HCV is still more forgetful than I ever was. Who can figure? Be patient Grandma, it takes time for our bodies to get rid of all the toxins.
nygirl: I got thrown off a horse, bonked my head, and had a mild concussion. We went shopping afterwards and I walked into the men's room by mistake. I stood there trying to figure our what all those funny things on the wall were!
I still have some to some degree. I'm actually not sure it will ever be gone. I did however many years ago (1993) suffer a traumatic brain injury when a stupid telephone truck rear ended my car - I'm not sure if the INF/Riba did something to bring back some of the short term memory loss but boy oh boy - I've never been what you'd call brilliant but now I'm borderline mornic sometimes. People are always saying well like I told you yesterday and I am getting better about not getting that stupid look on my face and going huh? what? when?
This is almost 9 months later and I'm REALLY getting tired of it! BTW congrats on finally being done - I can't believe still that it already went by for you! :)
Jim: thanks for all your comments. I appreciate it.
Merrybe: I found your KNOW THIS post. It's very interesting. I know 2 people who got diabetes after tx. One is on the transplant list now. His first shot almost killed him, good thing he was in the doctor's office at the time or we would have lost him.
All: I'm so forgetful that when l left the house for my last sauna yesterday I left the front door and back door both open. My handyman shut and locked the front door. I saw an acquaintance at the store yesterday and recognized her face but could not remember where I met her or her name.
Brain fog causes a slow reponse to others and an inability to focus (sometimes a lack of awareness of what others are doing - I interrupt). I hope that explains what I am experiencing. It is not normal. I will get some gingko.
Lady Lauri - you might not get the headaches if you drink more water. The only time I got a headache is when I didn't drink enough water before my weekly shot. It was bad. It lasted all night.
speaking of brain fog...... i can't find your post 'KNOW THIS"......:{

Brain fog sucks! :} Of all the things 'settling' in thus far, 4 weeks into 'only' 24, the HEADACHES and constant stoned/drugged feeling brain is awful! H*ll , I hated drugs as I hated 'not being in control' of my 'head' and now.........what was I saying ??? LOL!

what exactly is brain fog? Can you describe it to me?
I'm sure you'll get some nutritional advice, etc, and perhaps that can help some -- as maybe moderate exercise and some supplements, or even a few cups of coffee or caffinated tea daily -- however, keep in mind that the drugs stay in your system for some time. My doc called it "interferon hangover" and said it could last 6-12 months. That coincides with what many here have reported although some report feeling great relatively soon and some complain of brain fog for even longer periods. Different reactions for different people and no doubt the length of time on the drugs has some role. Hang in there and try and be patient.
