Interesting question - I have ALWAYS had low B/P.  After the past 6 months of being consistently VERY high, I am now on a very low dose of atenolol - is it the HCV? Who knows? But I have wondered.

To the extent that your body responds to the HCV by producing autoimmune responses, you might also see cardiovascular problems arise.  There is no particular one-to-one correlation yet between HCV and high blood pressure, but there is now correlation to Diabetes Type II, ED, Thyroidism, Metabolic Syndrome, certain blood disorders, etc.  Its not hard to see how some people may be prone to high blood pressure from having developed autoimmune responses to the virus, which is fairly common.  If you review the effects of Lupus on the cardiovascular system, you will see how much impact these kinds of illnesses can produce.

I believe that HCV is capable of producing or stimulating a wide range of disorders from person to person, and if you read the literature, and research you will find everything from arthritis, and lymphatic illness to skin disorders and depression resulting from HCV infection.  The list of related disorders, or disorders specifically caused by HCV is a long one.  Some people develop none or few, while others are overwhelmed with related sx and illnesses due in some way to the virus.

I think that over the years we will see things like cardiovascular disease, stroke, and other deadly illnesses directly linked to HCV, and especially in those who have had long standing infections.

I mixed up  a couple of things in the last post. A "24 hour" device can monitor both blood pressure and/or cardiac rhythm. An "events monitor" is for cardiac rhythm. In any event a good cardiologist will know what you need if anything. FWIW I've brought at least two friends to the ER displaying the symptons you describe and they were diagnosed as panic attacks. The emergency room sees a lot of them.

What you describe sounds more like classic panic attacks and not high blood pressure, nor anything Hepatitis C related for that matter. That said, my suggestion is that you get yourself fully evaluated by an internist (preferably a cardiologist) to rule out other causes. In general you cannot "tell" if your blood pressure is elevated or not, but doctors can do a "24 hour" blood pressure test if warranted -- or, if you think your episodes are less frequent than that -- they might give you an "events" monitor to take home, or suggest you purchase a home blood pressure device. Having high blood pressure for "3 minutes" every few months isn't high blood pressure. No doctors here, but you should go see one.

Meki thanks you´ve been alot of help with all this crazy questions that I have with all this crazy things that ar heppening to me. I wrote the question late last night cause I had an episode. It was like 3am when I had this episode. I felt like a sudden weird feeling across my body, my heart started hard palpitations, I was feeling like I might faint, felt like heavy, difficulty breathing, it has happened before thats is why I know that I just take it easy and it gets better after like 30 minutes or so. I have been to the emergency like 4 times becuase of it and when I get there everything is ok. Last night I didn´t take my blood pressure but I know it was up. My head felt pressure and my whole body felt like stiff, this is very scary. I´m feeling better but still feel kinda weird but better, don´t know if this is like a small episode hangover and feel little weird still and it will go away today during the day.

Also I´m waking up almost everyday with shortness of breath and I wake up and fell better like 30 minutes after waking up.

I have done all tests before finding out I have Hep C and evrything was ok. So the only answer I have it that everything is because of the Hep C. Can all this crazy things be becausse of Hep C, its kinda difficult to beleive that.

Also what kinda foods should I avoid and which ones are good for me.

Hmmm that question needs to be rephrased.

HCV can cause ALL sorts of things.

I mean seriously... think about it.

YOUR LIVER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ORGAN IN YOUR BODY.

It filters out toxins and cleans your blood as it circulates throughout your entire body.

Every person is different based on genetics, the chemicals and foods and medicines they ingest --- and everything you eat or breathe or touch goes into your body... So... ANYTHING is probably possible.

And your body will react as toxins roll through it...

So I can't tell you if YES... you are definetely experiencing something related to HCV --- but it could be.

Yanno?

Eat healthy - think about what you are putting into your body --- and pay attention to how you feel afterwards. Exercise properly... See your doctor...
