GASTROENTEROLOGY June 2011
==================================================
You will see the article as it appears in the June article.
Toward the end of the article the authors write this;
"virologic
response in the current analysis.
Our study has several advantages, including a large
number of patients with histological staging of liver
fibrosis, careful assessment of virologic response using a
central virology laboratory, and comprehensive assessment
of clinical and histologic features. Limitations include
a lack of information on caffeine and coffee brewing
methods and the assessment of coffee via self-report
at a single time point."
And the somewhat typical provision; warrants more in depth study into the subject. This should not be viewed as decisive proof. Since it is self reporting the findings are subject to some scrutiny.

from what I read there was no difference in decaf vs. reg.
I'd really like to know the same thing. Joe likes coffee normally but can't really tolerate the acid and caffiene when on TX. I also wonder about adding cream. I know the cream has been reported to bind and inhibit the good benefits reported from coffee. I don't know if this applies to this use or not.
I assume the coffee was caffeinated, I'd like to know if decaf has the same effect.
interesting stuff...i love coffee...i always thought thats why my viral load stayed so low...trial nurse told me not to drink it...but i have been having one big cup a day : )
