Not a question.......Last Dose of Incevik

I took my last dose of Incevik.  It was so nice to get up with out the alarm, have a piece of wheat bread with low fat yogurt and not worry about the 20 grams of fat.   I am still undetectable, but on procrit, with reduced RIBA to 400 mg a day.  Have a doc  appt. today so we may increase Riiba.  My HGB is back up to 10.7.

Congratulations!   Yes, I am finding it is much easier not having to take the INC.  I am actually feeling good.  Hemoglobin  is up to 11.1 and my energy level has really improved.  We will just keep ticking the weeks away until we reach 48.

My last dose of Incivek was exactly one week ago. I couldn't bear to eat any more fat and I did end up having 3 days of diarrhea when I quit it, but then it passed and I am totally amazed at how good I've been feeling ever since. I never felt this good on previous treatment with SOC, so all I can figure is that It's like that old saying "if you start your morning by swallowing a live frog, the rest of your day will be always be great" - or something like that. I think I've just totally readjusted my mental standards of what feels good and what feels bad. If I can keep feeling this good for the rest of my 48 weeks of tx, I wil be a happy camper!

Congratulations on finishing Incivek, the nurse at my doctors office said that there were many people who stopped before finishing so finishing the 12 weeks is a big accomplishment..
As someone else suggested you might want to keep eating a small amount of fat as you still have the Incivek in your body and you want to process what is left.  Everyone's body is different however I saw signs of Incivek for 3 weeks after treating.  I wish you the best.  I am on week 20 or 21

Yes, it will all be worth it.  It is so much easier without the Incevik, but still a few side effects.  When is your 48th week?

Glad to hear you have finished Incivek. Things will probably get better in the side effect department now that you are off Incivek. Sorry you have to do 48 weeks total. I do too and I know a few others do. If we reach SVR it will all be worth it. It does not make it any easier, but the payoff is great.

Congratulations!  That must feel wonderful.  I will offer a word of caution, however.  Have read quite a few posts from people who (understandably) immediately cut their fat intake and had some issues with anal "discomfort" as the INC was leaving their body.  Many have recommended that you ease off for at least a week.  But of course, not having to take that 20g 3x day must be great.  Hope the rest of your tx is a piece of (low-fat) cake!

Sounds like you're doing really well.  Good luck with your dr. appt.  My husband increased riba (from 800 to 1200) a couple of weeks ago, and he's doing OK.
