The tx also causes dental problems too? Ive never had teeth problems and I just now had my first two cavities filled and thats it for my mid 30's basically thats pretty good. But soujnds like it might not last too long. What does it do, make your teeth weak or does anyone know?
That's what I thought, I have an appt. to get a crown this month. Makes sense to do it now. Thanks for all the responses.
I think you should get it done and get your teeth cleaned too, the treatment tends to make you get teeth problems.
Best to get whatever you can to help prevent that done now.
I got everything done pre tx and had no teeth probs during last tx.
Good luck,

Get it done now. Why wait? You'll be more comfortable now and you'll have it done.
I had my teeth cleaned during treatment and was very tender and sore after the cleaning. I didn't have any damage but I could also feel the tenderness during the cleaning also.
the less trauma to any area that has mucous membranes during tx the better. i got canker sores as soon as i had dental work. some medical procedures are unavoidable over 6-12 mos but i would minimize if possible. good luck, babs
Yes you can get dental work done now. I don't know where you got the idea that you couldn't get dental work while on tx. It won't be a problem either way.
Good luck,
Diane
Sure; you might prefer to get it done now, rather than wait and do it during therapy. Many of us get dental work done while treating too, although it might be problematic if your platelets get too low and affect your ability to clot.
If you decide to wait until treatment begins, take a medication list to the dentist along with a recent CBC so he can check your labs.
