Please Help..I have so many questions

My sister has hep c and will probably been starting treatment in about a month or so. I have so many questions because I worry about her. I want to know with all these conditions she has will she be okay when she does treatment? If anyone can tell me I will be very thankful, Here goes:

1. Her cholesterol levels are not good
2. She is overweight by about 80 pounds
3. She has high blood pressure and takes med for it
4. Doctor says she is borderline diabetic
Thank you, Beckland

As long as she keeps her BP and diabetes under control she should be ok IMHO. Her fibrosis number is good, not much damage to the liver.

As for her weight I am sure she would lose a lot during treatment. No she will not feel better right away. She will feel horrible because that is how the meds you have to take make you feel. She will possibly be nauseous, fatigued, depressed. On the up side, by losing weight, she may eliminate the borderline diabetic aspect and her cholesterol will probably decrease.
Good luck and God bless.

The only thing I would think would be in question is the cholesterol..You have to eat 20 grams of fat 30 min before you take the incevik. It worries me I have gained like 15 lbs already but you only have to take it for 12 weeks. The others can be controlled with medication.

While we would all love to have the perfect blood markers and ideal weight that just not always possible.... More important is her geno type, and liver condition. Her doctor should due regular cbc'a to keep an eye on the others..... Once she starts treatment its very important to make sure she takes all of her meds and pretty much on time.......

I'm sure others will be around also to answer, welcome to the forum and its nice of you to care about your sister.
