Sorry about your mom and what both of you are going through. There are no doctors here so all we can do is speculate. If she's seeing a liver specialist, maybe you should give the doctor a call and discuss her condition. If she's not currently seeing a liver specialist (hepatologist) now would be a good time to get her one. A lot of us have forgetfull periods so I wouldn't jump to conclusions before you speak to her doctor. I hope everything works out.

I know you are scared and totally understand what you are going through. At your young age to think of loosing a parent is very scary. Maybe you could make an appt for your mom and go along. There is a patient confidentiality thing so she would have to okay him talking to you. Anyway maybe he can tell you what to expect. Also ask if hospice would be an option. At the end I really recommend it. They truely are wonderful and can help your mom. I would have never believed it until I experienced it with my ailing father. Anyway I know you need someone to talk to and wish I could help more.
Did anyone see the artile in the news today about the kids getting tatoos back in 2004 from people that did not sterilize etc. They are now finding skin problems....I bet in the next 5 years or so there will be HEP people out of the woodwork.
I remember Kalio talking about tatoos and she brought up an interesting point, that it's not the needles per se that always have the virus? forgot exactly.. but it was interesting and I was discussing this with someone the other day and spaced it..(whoda thought? haha) anyway, what was that you said Kalio? if youre around and can refresh my memory...no, I didn't see that article...
I'm very sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she finds a way to manage her hep c/cirrosis.
