Uprotected fellatio, protected intercourse

I recently started seeing someone mostly for a friends with benefits type thing.  We have seen each other 4 times es since July 5, the latest being last night.  Each encounter consisted of her performing unprotected oral on me (I am male) for a short time....probably a minute or so.  This was followed by protected intercourse.  This cycle was then repeated each meeting for a total of 2 times per meeting.  She said something last night that bothered me so I questioned her this morning about it.  It turns out a previous boyfriend was HepC positive.  Do I run a substantial risk of being infected with that from unprotected oral.  From why I have read I don't thinks so, but a direct answer would be more comforting.  Second is there a real risk of other std's from these encounters.  I appreciate any help that I can get.  Am.I overreacting?

There is essentially no risk of hepatitis C transmission. Hepatitis C is usually spread when blood from a person infected with the Hepatitis C virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. It is not a STD. It is not spread through any sexual practice. Today, most people become infected with hepatitis C by sharing needles or other equipment to inject drugs.

"Based on 8,377 person-years of follow-up, the maximum incidence rate of HCV transmission by sex was 0.07% per year (95% confidence interval, 0.01-0.13) or approximately one per 190,000 sexual contacts. No specific sexual practices were related to HCV positivity among couples."

By what you have explained there is no risk.  Are you over reacting? Most likely.    If you are concerned about STDs...ask on the STD forum.  If your still concerned about Hepatitis C.....get tested.

I think 6 - 10 week is the minimum about of time. I have really bad OCD and the only thing that helps me is to test regardless of risk. At the end of the day it's what ever helps you sleep at night. God bless

Additionally, I read all the accounts from heterosexual couples that have one partner with known HepC infection and the other does not have it after years or decades together and I can't help but think the chances of me being infected from 8 oral encounters that are probably 10 minutes long combined are pretty slim.  The problem.I have is that I am a logical person and the human body is not logical.  Guess I just needed to get all of this out there.....thanks for listening...or reading.

Thanks wife for the response.  She has assured me she is negative, she dated him 4 years ago and within the last year was tested when she had her gallbladder removed.  I don't know if they would r Hep for something like that or not, but it makes sense to.me that they would want to check for infectious diseases before surgery.  Regardless, I should have been more clear in my first post.  I am going to be tested, its just a matter of when.  Some say 6 weeks, some say 6 months.  I guess I was looking for some peace of.mind until the time comes to get tested.  If you were in my shoes would you worry?  Thx again.

There is not a lot of data about hep oral transfer. Hep c is a blood to blood infection. Not really considered a std most cases excecpt for anal sex because can easily involve blood. However since she had a confirmed parnter with hep c may want to get tested. 6 weeks is the minimum time you can get tested. From what I have read not typically transfered orally. Common oral stds are herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis. Can test for most after 2 weeks. Can't get herpes 1 again if you already have it 50% of the US does. Syphilis can test after 6 weeks. No such thing as safe sex till your in a mutually exclusive relationship. God bless
