Failed treatment

What are the options for longevity if a stage3-4 Hep c does not respond to treatment? This is regarding somebody I'm close to.

Not sure this is what your asking but if you are referring to life expectancy, that would vary depending on a lot of things. If one is between stage 3 and 4 then one could expect under proper care and a careful lifestyle then several years would not be out of the question.

Even a person that is stage 4, depending on certain things could expect many years. Of course once one is cirrhotic things can change at anytime. A hepatoligist is needed for such a person.

As for any treatment then like Hector said much more info is needed, the main thing is find a good doctor and educate yourself on the do's and don'ts............ Best to you and person in need.

What treatment didn't they respond to?
How did they fail treatment? Breakthough, null responder, partial responder, relapser, serious adverse effects?
What genotype are they?

More details would be helpful.
