Free Hep C Testing in the S.F Bay Area

I was so excited to see big signs for Free Hep C testing while on my walk today.
Of course I ran over to chat with the group there handing out information and free pb&j sandwiches.

The Berkeley Free Clinic mobile unit was doing the testing.

Oasis, the group passing out hep C information, also provides references to local hep clinical trials, support and more.

It does sound like something NYC would be doing.
Maybe you can instigate it??

Not sure about the test but just to see the words Free Hep C testing on a big banner, was a first, for me.
It's way past time for the stigma of hep C to be gone.
We need more people willing to go into communities and hand out free information like these people were.

I bet we'd all be amazed to truly find out how many people have hep C.

Wow wonder if they just check for antibodies or the HCV
RNA by PCR ? Just went to the county health dept out here to see I qualify for
reduced tests. The paper work looks tricky or like a big ole catch 22 to me. But If I qualify I can do any blood work for 5 bucks she said. hmm think Ill check out that sight too. Thanks
