My suggestion would be to call the PA and ask if they have determined your genotype. If they haven't yet done the blood work to determine your genotype, ask if they can order it so you can get it done before you see the doctor on the 14th. Knowing your genotype, along with the biopsy results, will help you and your doc determine the next step.
It's pretty surprising that the doc (PA) has not yet tested for Genotype. Maybe they have but have not informed you of the result. Generally, diagnostic testing for HCV is sort of sequential, with the last piece being the biopsy. No big deal that you haven't been typed yet. It's just another blood draw. With the genotyping and the biopsy result you should have the full picture of your situation.
The test for genotype is separate from the PCR ( which is the one that gave you the viral load). I am surprised they did not to the typing test when they did the PCR. I do not think the genotype can be determined from the biopsy. High viral load is any over 800,000 so yours is considered high -- but that doesn't have that much meaning -- there are a lot of people that have much higher viral loads and that does not indicate the amount of liver damage. The biopsy is what will count - it will tell you the liver damaage you have.
