Pooh she did a test at week 9 because the lab didnt do it the week before there is a Epic file they said there wasnt anything in the Epic fille and never did the Viral load-   Look at the dates I posted to Will that is correct what is there I went on my chart an looked at them I hope she isnt telling me this to make you happy because now I am really excited to get this over I stated on March 23rd so I guess my full first week would be the following Friday- now you have to get back to me because I was told today Sept 30th is my last shot and to finish what pills I have left at that time and If I am still neg 6 months after I finish I am considered by them done.

If you only have to do 28 weeks, that is great.

But, I am a little confused. Your posts make it appear that you were still detectable at end of week 9.

Did you do a PCR at the end of week 4 and at the end of week 8? As Will said, the PCR at the end of week 8 (full 8 weeks of treatment), is the PCR that determines how long you treat.

If the dates you gave above are correct, it looks like your PCRs were drawn at the end of week 7, the end of week 9, and 2 days shy of the end of week 12. Did they not do a PCR at the end of week 8?

Detectable
"my first test HCV RNA by PCR 203,000 IU/mL A
INTERPRETATION:
Positive for HCV RNA by PCR. (*)
The Linear Range of this assay is 43 IU/mL to 69,000,000 IU/mL.
Reference Range: Negative for HCV RNA "

Detectable
"my second test was HCV RNA by PCR Detectable for HCV RNA by PCR, less than 43 IU/mL, not quantifiable. IU/mL
Reference Range: Negative for HCV RNA
The Linear Range of this assay is 43 IU/mL to 69,000,000 IU/mL."  4-20-2012
(Does this mean the test was done on April 20th because, if so, that is 7 full weeks of treatment, not 8.)

Week 9, Detectable
You posted this on May 21, 2012:
"Hi here are my test results from last week ....... I am on week 11 of treatment starting this week .....
HCV RNA by PCR Detectable for HCV RNA by PCR, less than 43 IU/mL, not quantifiable. IU/mL
Reference Range: Negative for HCV RNA
The Linear Range of this assay is 43 IU/mL to 69,000,000 IU/mL. "

That says you were detectable at week 9 unless you typed the results incorrectly.

Then above you said:
"my latest test May 23rd
Component Your Value Standard Range Units Flag
HCV RNA by PCR Negative for HCV RNA by PCR
May 23rd would be 2 days shy of 12 weeks of treatment.

It appears that the May 23rd test is the first negative PCR.

As Will said, according the the guidelines, to do 28 weeks you had to be Undetectable at the end of week 8.

If I were you, I would pin that doctor down and get every single PCR result and then map them out on the calendar and be absolutely sure that I had the PCR tests drawn when I was supposed to have them drawn (end of 4 weeks, end of 8 weeks, end of 12 weeks). If you did not have a end of week 8 PCR, then there is no PCR to determine length of treatment. And if you were, indeed, positive at end of week 9, then 48 weeks is recommended by the guidelines.

I hope that you typed the results incorrectly and that you were, indeed, negative at the end of week 8.

Yes the dreaded "fog"   :)

It will be easy to check their records and see what the 8 week PCR on or just before April 27th  is ..

Good luck LF
