start tx

I went to see the doctor today, the drug store has to order in the medicine and I will be starting on Friday for 6 months, Iam hoping for not too bad side effects.  My work is downsizing and asking for voluntary lay offs and reduced hours.  I took a 4 day work week with fridays off. works for me and the drugs are covered by my insurance plan at work so MUST keep my job..........with everything going on iam still lucky........could be worse

Good point DD9th.  Some people do find different days to be their "bad" days.  In fact, sometimes I would feel particularly bad in the middle of the week between shots and not so much so on the weekends. But...mostly it was the days after the shots for me.

That was my plan originally, but I found that it was more like 2-3 days after the shot day that I felt the worse.   I almost felt good on day of shot and next day.  Go figure.

I agree with the suggestion of taking your shot on Thursday evening and then using Fri, Sat and Sun to recuperate.  I took my shots on Friday nights and then used Sat, Sun and Mon to recuperate.  I took Mondays off work by using my vacation days.

I know you're all set to start treatment now but you might consider waiting at least 2 weeks after your get your shipment of meds before you start.  The reason I'm suggesting this is because sometimes there are delays in med shipments and, if you don't have some extra meds in the refrig, you'll be delayed in taking your shot.  So...get your meds, wait 2 weeks, start treatment and then order your next shipment of meds on time from when you first ordered them.  Then you will always have 2 shots ahead in the refrigerator.  Just a suggestion.

If you are going to be off on Fridays you might consider doing the first shot (and all others subsequently) on Thursday evenings.

I can vouch for that.

I started my 24 weeks back in September, and at the time 6 months seemed like forever.  But I'm almost there, I'm doing my 3rd to last shot today, then only 2 more!

I think the worst part of it for me was the first couple of weeks, esp. with the mood changes and emotional ups and downs.  After going on an anti-depressant, that became manageable.

I have been using up vacation time to work a 4 day week, and that was a big help for me.

Good luck to you on your journey.  Hopefully you will be done before you know it.

All the best for Friday.  Believe it or not, 6 months passes quite quickly!
