HAPPY BIRTHDAY, INDIANA !!! Can't do much better than GreatBird's greeting so I'll stop with God Bless you to good health and thanks for being here. Pattie
I thought that if you are under 165lbs you take 1,000mg. Over 165 lbs one would take 1,2000mg. So I would think your dose is a little high. I'm about 128lbs and take 1,000.
I take 1,200 mg of riba daily. Only when my rbc went so low about week 10, I had to decrease riba to 800 mg for 2 weeks until my procrit could kick in and assist. I then went back to my usual 1,200 mg daily.
I am female, 1a genotype and weigh approx. 132 lbs. I am in my 21st week of treatment. I haven't lost much weight at all due to the medicines.
You should discuss directly with your dr why he has put you on 600 mg daily of riba and see what his explanation is. There may be another reason that you are not aware of or he may plan to increase the riba at some point.
Are you in early stages of treatment? What week are you in?
Have a wonderful birthday, Indiana! I am so glad you are you. You, with your knowledge and incredible sense of humor have gotten me through the past year. I owe you a large debt of gratitude (and, no, my sisters will never consent to that!)
no other health probs. nothing that everyone else isn't experiencing with hcv.
My husband was not even put on Riba at all! Back when he treated the last time, it was just beginning to become standard of care, but elective for 3's. He is (was) 3a and cleared on 1 year of Peg Intron alone. He was told he only had to take it for 6 months, but had relapsed after previous treatment, and wanted to really hit it hard.
