Log Drop calculation, please help

I am unsure how to calculate the log drop. I understand moving the decimals over 2 places for a 2 log drop which I didn't have, but don't know the precise calculation.
Starting viral load 2.7 million
4 week Viral load 69800,

This was before boceprevir was added. I guess they aren't the greatest numbers, but I hope the boceprevir will knock em out. My hemo was still not very low, 11.9 and started at 14.8 The boce knocks the hgb down also so well see, I've been feeling worse since I started the boce which hopefully means I am doing better.

thank you all for your help-Dave

Hi Can-
I am happy, but reserved! I guess if it was easy we wouldn't need the pi's. I'm determined to beat this thing! die you little bastards!

Really dave at 4 weeks it looks as if the meds are working, a 3 point drop in you HGB is pretty big, i have a feeling in a few weeks you would love to have that number back. Almost a 2 log drop is not that bad either. Your next really big blood draw will be at 8 weeks though will be interesting to see your numbers at 6 weeks.

Feeling bad can be good, hang in there.

I didn’t even think of that, Dave; silly me and my PC. If you can’t find it, you can buy a cheap scientific calculator somewhere for a couple of bucks.

Hi Dave—

2,700,000 = log 6.431
69,800 = log 4.844

Using the scientific calculator that’s located in your computer, enter the numerical viral load and push the ‘LOG’ key; this should get it for you. To find the calculator:

Start Key
>all programs
>accessories
>calculator

Be sure the calculator is toggled to the ‘scientific’ function, and you should be good to go.
