Thanks all,
Had a glucose tolerance level recently, my fasting glucose level was high, Dr. said I am probably pre diabetic, but then again they always zoom back to the Hep C, and holding off on a diagnosis or treatment until I start other treatment. I don't know this may all be related but it seems at times like they really don't know or are passing the buck.
I have always felt one of my doctors will blame everything on my hep. Aches, pains-whatever. But reading your symptoms--makes me think twice. I have never been a sweet eater. Now after every meal I immediately want a cookie, ice cream...something. I've even had ice cream for dinner!
merryBe-you always provide a wealth of knowledge and information. Thank you!

I had the same syndrome....yes it's hep C, but a lot of people with hep c develop a lw IGF-1 level as well...which leads to insulin resistance, which leads to craving sugar....Your blood sugar may be high, but unless the signal is sent to the cell to burn the sugar, it just sits in the blood while your cells starve.
It's common to get depressed and withdraw when you feel unwell. Ask the doc to test your fasting glucose level, and order an IGF-1 to see if you are making any Insulin Growth Factor...and this number will also indicate if yur body is trying to repair each night. (see me thread called KNOW THIS)
let us know your biopsy results. Hope you will feel better on tx.
my virus went from 1.4 million to gone now...in 6 months and my liver doesn't hurt very much, but things were really getting bad before tx.
Thanks for response, is Dr. giving you anything for symptoms, were there any I didn't mention, I also crave sweets and don't have much of an appetite for anything thing else.
Thanks

I just got back from the doc today. I am complaining of all the same symptoms. I have not had a biopsy as of yet. The doc blamed all those symptoms on the Hep.
