Hair Loss - Bad Wig Company

Awhile back I thought I was going to have to go on SOC and went to the postings about hair loss for advice and recommendations.  When I thought I would need chemo that induced hair loss, I purchased a wig from WIGS.COM much to my regret.  In my opinion this is a terrible company with poor business practices and an inferior product especially for a first time wig customer.  Epinions tends to agree with me although there are many overblown reviews from questionable sources.  Go elsewhere!  When I thought I was going to have to have chemotherapy I ordered a wig from them.  They sent me a wig with no directions and the thing looked like it had come from a 5 and 10 cent store.  It was shapeless and felt like a mop.   I had several hospital involvements and could not return the wig promptly and wanted to find out whether I needed to exchange or ask for my money back.  I found out I did not need chemotherapy and I sent the wig back with an understanding that I would pay a 25 % re-stocking fee but would have the rest of the $98+ returned to me.  I got an email saying I had missed the 10 day deadline and that they were "donating" the wig and not giving me my reimbursement.  When I called, a young woman named "Taylor" who said she was a manager argued with me without any willingness or ability to settle the matter.    I wouldn't want anyone else making the same mistake I have made.  Do yourself a favor and go to a wig store near you where you can see the product up close, try it on and return it to the community-minded merchant if it does not suit you.  This on line company is not a good bet especially when considering the cost, both emotional and financial, that goes along with a wig purchase.  If you really are facing chemo that could affect your appearance, this is one negative experience you can do without.

I bought mine on ebay and they were all under $50 TOPS (synthetic I wasn't wasting money on real hair) and they worked out just FINE.  got many different styles and different tones of color and actually didn't get a bummer in the lot and I bought probably 15 of them over the years.

I think it's pretty fair that they have a return policy at all.  Especially if you tried on the wig.  Most places won't let you return hair after you've left the store.

I've bought many, many hairpieces over the years and the receipts are always stamped "final sale".
