Hi, I came to this forum for that very reason.  It was around the 6-7 month that it was really bad for me too.  My scalp hurt too, like pulling or burning. It was also very dry and had sores.  I tried rubbing oil etc but finally my hair stylist took me to the beauty supply.
I have found something that has helped a little.
Try the Nioxin  Scalp Recovery.  It has a turquoise blue and white packaging.
This is different from the regular Nioxin.  I tried the scalp therapy type that they sell at Costco first, but I have found that the the Recovery works much better.
I still have regular hair loss, but my scalp issues are sooooo much better.  I have the whole kit. It comes with these little tubes that you can squeeze directly onto your scalp whenever it fells bad. The whole kit was 25.00 at the beauty supply, but you had to be a professional to purchase.
At least for me it has provided some relief.  I agree you should drink tons of water.
Good luck on your treatment. Hang in there!

p.s I stopped shampooing my hair.  Now I rinse it and use only conditioner, it seems less dry and fuller that way.

Hello

I am going on my 12th week of treatment. I've had one migraine and my head hurts often as well. I've never in my life had a migraine until I started treatment.

As Marcia mentioned...water, water, water! My doctor tells me to drink AT LEAST one gallon of water PER DAY. I do notice that on days when I don't drink the gallon that I feel worse...nausea and head aches. I take naproxem sodium for pain killers and then I rest. No noise and no bright lights.

I was warned that hair loss may occur and I haven't had any major loss but do notice much more falling out when doing my hair in the morning. I was worried that I may have major loss so I went out and bought a wig.

Good Luck and get much rest and h20!

The hair loss is very common. I lost about 70% of mine. It stopped falling out at about 2 months after treatment. It does grow back, so don't worry.

The majority of hepatologists recommend taking tylenol for pain, but be sure to check with your doctor. Drinking adequate amounts of water is important during treatment. It eases the symptoms. A light head massage can also be soothing.

Wishing you all the best.
