I would be annoyed however the flu/pneumonia shots are not urgent so I wouldn't create a big scene with them...just keep calling back every day and eventually they'll get sick and tired of hearing from you and remember to call.
They don't sound tremendously efficient but unless you plan to switch to a new doctor, getting them mad over something no matter how 'right' you are makes no sense cause then they will really take it out on you.
Having a flu and pneumonia shot is a definite to do once you have this disease.............I don't know why your regular doc feels they need to know this anyway as it's standard practice - just go get it we are ALL advised to without a doubt.
I was pretty intolerant with my regular doc and my specialist too...at first. And I had the same question about flu shot plus hep a and b vaccinations as well. (Had it not been for this forum I would not have known to get vaccinations for those)
Now that I am into treatment a few weeks, I am finding that the more pleasant I am to them, the better the care, and the easier the communications. I certainly do think there is a time to cut loose from a doctor that you feel is giving you substandard service for your buck. But in my case, it was my impatience more than their inadequate care.
I think that I was just so freaked out at first, and wanting answers to questions yesterday, that I failed to realize how many other important issues they have to deal with on a daily basis.
All you can do is decide if you and your doctor are a good fit overall, putting into consideration the things that you feel are a priority to you. You are certainly open-minded to come on the forum to see if others have the problem, and I'm thinking that it could be a majority here do at some point.
Good luck to you! My short answer would have been "don't sweat the small stuff". I'm supposed to get my second hep B shot this week, and at another time might have called my hep's NP to see if it's okay the day before my important 4th week VL test. I've decided to change the hep B date to early next week, rather than call. Easier for me, them, and my peace of mind!
Hang in there!
