Dry mouth an ulcers/ finally relief

Hi community, this is not a question for the forum, but how I finally put an end to extreme dry mouth resulting in painful mouth ulcers.  Long story but dealt with this for about 4 wks .  Ended up seeing primary care who referred me to E.N.T. , who referred me to dentist.  Was using every biotene product available due to MILD dry mouth pre tx. From other meds. Starting treatment seemed to kick the sores into high gear.  After all this go around with no relief, spoke with specialist pharmacist when he asked how treatment was going, told him what was happening.  He sent me  a box of adhering disc to use during day an especially at night during sleep.  They are called xylimelts.  They worked wonders an within a week, problem cleared.  The stick to the inside of your gum, a little tricky to figure out where to place them,  but They work.  Wake up, mouth is moist, problem solved.  Thought I would pass this on to save anyone the silly merry-go-round feeling of getting no relief or advice from 3 different doctors.  It is over the counter but hard to find but Rite-Aid pharmacy will order for you.  40 disc for like $7 bucks.  Well worth it.  Hope this info helps.  I will be using these after treatment .  Highly recommended.   Take care.   Mary

My meds also give horrible dry mouth and I have lost a great number of teeth after all these years.

I will still look into these though my dry mouth is not as bad as once way back. I will also give advice to my gp and dentist.

I was so glad to find something to give me relief.  The ulcer an tongue pain that lasted a good 4 wks, just intensified my irritability.  To top it off , 5 of the 6 maintenance meds I take every day causes dry mouth.  Will be using them from now on cause they really work thru the night.  Checked price 7.99 but were on sale. .. Great find! Amazon has them but a little more expensive. Will see if my Rite Aid will order them at the price you RA quoted you.

Hey there! This sounds great!  I know this will help a lot of people with the same problem.  You are right, when I treated, I tried so many things tohelp my mouth, it was awful.  Finally got the magic mouthwash but your idea sounds so much better.
