Does incivek rash go away after discontinuation ?

hi hub just done tx he to had mild rash with incivek and went straight after the 12wk but then got riba rash his shins looked like a snake shedding its skin. this lasted til end of tx but it was only a mild irritation hep doc gave him 5%hydrocortisone cream a mild steriod cream and no probs. Good luck with rest of tx

My incivek rash was minimal during treatment with incivek.  But I did have the incivek rash and after the 12 weeks of incivek it went away.  You are hearing about the exceptional cases on this forum of extended rash problems after ending incivek.  There is always exceptions but for the most part the rash ends with the incivek.

Irup's experience is typical, or at least common. I also had my rash increase during that first week after finishing the Incivek but then it faded away fairly quickly after that. I did have a RIBA rash during most of the rest of tx, but it was nowhere near as bad as what the Incivek produced. That said, I want to remind you that if you have a severe rash you must take it seriously and get to a dermatologist ASAP. It's rare, but Incivek can cause a rash that can actually be fatal. Also, even for mild rashes you'll be much better off if you get a prescription strength steroid early on and use it regularly. This rash tends to snowball, so its best to never let it get too out of hand. Good luck!

Hi, I had the incivik rash from the beginning.  When I finished my last dose it took about 5 days for it to completely clear out.  However, those five days were the worst.  It seemed to attack places I never had it before.  Now I am rash free except for a spot or two on my arms that belongs to the Riba and I have been able to put away all meds that helped me through the incivik.  

There will be other experiences but that was mine.  I wish you the best..
