I'm lost. What exactly is your question? Is the poll to determine whether people agree that the bottom of the refrigerator is the coldest place?
If it has no effect why would you keep taking the meds?
Also you can't decide how much to take or how little - and also there are plenty enough people who did not succeed the first time who were able to treat again and succeed.
None of this makes any sense to me at all and I have been cured over three years.
If you still have viral load at 12 weeks, it means that treatment is not working. Especially if it is 8 mln (I think, it is millions, not billions). You need to stop. You have to be undetected at 12 weeks, and even then treatment is successful in only about 50% of patients. Your goal is to get rid of the virus completely, not to make your counts lower. I don't know why your doctor didn't explain this to you in detail.
You should read more about hepatitis C. Having reliable latest information on treatment options and on the nature of the disease will help you to make good sound decisions about your care. This is better then listening to any friend, even the one who has good intentions. Please, try to inform yourself. This forum is a very good start, and there are many other sites on the internet that can be of help.
What kind of medical degree does your friend have? Is this friend going to pay for you to retreat if you listen to him and don't get cured?
This is a very serious illness, the meds cost serious money, and you need to be serious about doing your treatment right, or don't even bother.
Few things,
DONT take less of prescribed drugs. This is foolish and will hurt your chances for cure. It don't matter how long it helps you extend treatment. The drugs are weight based and doing full dose has to be done to have best chance of cure.
The most important thing with treating HCV is taking the FULL dose! Actually more is better then less. This disease has to be hit hard early and best chance for cure is to clear early.
The viral load #'s you list don't seem right becuase tests can only measure up to 100 million.
If in fact you still have a VL that high after 12 weeks then it is NOT working for you and you should stop treatment.
If you indeed took the drugs the way you described above then you can blame that on why you are not clear at 12 weeks.
Best of luck
