Hepatitis C

My granddaughter is 6 weeks old and is being cared for by someone with Hepatitis C.   What precautions if any should be implemented?    The caretaker has had it for awhile apparently and will start having some injections this coming week.

HCVis extrememly diffcult to "catch"--but if the caretaker is undergoing treatment such as INterferon, she will likely be quite ill and caring for a 6 week old would prove challenging at best. It sounds like sit-down time with her. My hubby on tx does not have the strength to pick up our 14 lb granddaughter!! Muc less the energy to care for her for a full day!

i will probably get some heat for this but i would not want my 6 week old being cared for by someone on this harsh treatment.  dont get me wrong having someone with hcv watch them does not bother me so much but while treating, that is a different story! best of luck
