Not much risk from snorting it unless you each had open wounds. Certainly a lot of risk if it was injected and needles were shared. Don't be too worried, but be careful out there, it's a bad thing to have and get rid of! It is carried blood to blood.
Be wiser :-)
Cathy
If you share snorting gear with a person who has Hep C you are at risk of contracting the virus. If you share needles with an infected person you will almost certainly contract Hep C.
Oh so I would have had to share a dollar bill with someone with blood in their nose and Hep C? I think I'm probably good then. I haven't done drugs in a long time, was just worried because I saw something saying you could get bad diseases from snorting drugs.
I gave up the coke, just a pepsi man now.... Plus its cheaper, be careful out there and stay well
can
Not just a dollar bill, unless everyone B.Y.O.S. (bring your own straw) Sorry--Just kidding, but many times people that snort drugs have sores in their noses. Surely there wasn't alot of conversation about that goin on. :-) Hopefully you are fine. If you have doubts, you can resolve them with a simple blood test.
It doesn't matter how long ago. It doesn't matter when the last time you snorted coke was. Or if you have symptoms. It is still a risk factor, no matter how slight. I haven't snorted coke in over 21 years. I have no symptoms. I am a geno 1a.
Wish you the best----take care of yourself! Stick with the pepsi!
Izzy
What is geno 1a? Would I have to have a sore in my nose too? I don't really do that kind of thing very often and I'm pretty sure my nose was fine.
I have hepc genotype 1 (that is a strain of the virus)
I don't know how I got it exactly,
but I just found out that a member of my cocaine crowd in my cocaine years has it also.
I shared straws with him a few times.
Not trying to scare you, but it is a possibility. A blood test will tell you if you have it..
Best wishes to you.
