Hot tub & Massage ????

Ok Ya'all   Here's a question for you.     Geno type 1a HCV   tri tx w/ INC.   Going on week 4        starting to get muscle aches and tightness, bla bla bla.       I thought I seen somewhere where someone had posted that massage was not good for us during treatment.      However,   I  have a girlfriend who is a licensed massage therapist who has retired and said that I welcome to come hop in the hottub and then she would work on my shoulders and neck, lower back a little.    Good idea ???   Bad idea???   & Why     Thanks for all your input in advance.     Just trying to find a little peace inside if you know what I mean :)   Carrie

massage might be very helpful. however i would definitely avoid hot tub with INC.  Chemicals in hot water will irritate skin and may cause a rash.  the telaprevir rash can be a show stopper.

nothing like a massage while on TX....make you feel almost human again...i go twice a week only cuz my wife works for physical therapist and its free....really makes that dead feeling body feel great! as far as the hot tub that would dehydrate you and prolly make you itch like a crazy  person.

YES YES YES get the massage!!!!!!!!!!  Extreme exercise can cause liver enzymes to rise but this is not extreme and you should be fine in fact better than ever.

I'd go get one right now if i could I tell you that!   :D

Yes to massage!  My massages on tx were the only time I felt "normal" and good.  Really helped to lift my mood and ease my aches and pains.  Another concern about the hot tub is related to circulation.  They tend to cause blood pressure drops which wouldn't be desirable in the presence of anemia.

I posted sometime back about exercise and massage because someone told me it could raise liver enzymes but I never found any supporting documentation and, since then, I have had several massages.  I think the drugs are more powerful than that.

I had a massage a week during TX and loved it. Hot tub makes me tired though.
