Don't worry about the drops, just continue with your treatments. I did the same thing during treatment, called the doctor and was told to simply continue.
The redipens always leak. Mine usually oozed out around the needle right after I set the pen. It really takes a strong thumb to push those end caps all the way in, doesn't it?
I used the redipen and almost always lost a few drops, and I am SVR. I don't think you need to worry too much at this point.
When I was in week 28, I wasted a whole shot, needle was not in tight enough. I think I only got a few drops. Called Clinic, and they told me to reinject myself.
But I don't think you need to worry about a few drops.
First time I've heard about the 80 rule Makes sense to me.
Take care - Lynne.
if the 80 rule is the case. this my first mishap. i can take a full break. (i got jokes)
when i pulled it out my stomach, i pushed to see if i had shot it all in. the few drops hit the floor.
No-it's nothing!
If you cleared early it is most likely you don't have residual viremia at this point anyway.
Dose adjustment of interferon is not uncommon, and a 'few drops' doesn't matter, particularly at week 34.
at week 34, I wouldn't worry to much about a few drops....remember the 80/80 rule...80% of the meds, 80% of the time...Not a target dosing regime, but a rule some docs use to define compliance...
Not to mention, sometimes those redipesns will hold a few "loose drops" just below the needle on the flat plastic surface...I use to tap them off prior to injecting with the pen. I wonder if those were the drops you saw....

When I first started TX I woke up with no symptoms and thought something was wrong and I didnt get my meds. When I called my doc they said that I more than likely got most of the meds and there isnt any reason to panic because they couldnt give me another injection with not knowing how much of the meds I actually got.
Im UND now so it must not have been a big deal. I think everyone goes thru some form of this or another.
Good luck..
