Injection Site Still Red

2nd shot coming up in an hour. The first spot has a circle about 1" around it. It doesn't hurt but I am aware of it. What do you think?

I sometimes have redness and a little bruising up to 2 or 3 weeks after a shot.  I was pretty anemic for a while though and its getting better.  Just watch for infection.

Just remembered one more thing we used in the beginning when he did have some redness - Traumeel.  I know you know what it is so I won't elaborate.

Just about half an hour, then I rub it between my hands to finish warming it up  and say a little prayer because that's how I roll.  You can relate, Ms. wheatgrass on the injection site girl :)  Maybe it's the temperature, maybe it's the massage, or maybe it's the prayer.  It can't hurt, right?

don't do the inside of your thighs.  only the middle part and outside.  i'd go lower (like mid thigh) and then go high.  good luck.  belle

That drug still freaks me out. I give myself B12 every two months (have to) so I am familiar with the process of shot giving. I just don't want to mess it up once it is in me. How long do you leave it out to be room temp please?

We've had a lot of success with making sure that the IFN is room temperature, and massaging the injection site for a few minutes after the shot.  Once we began this protocol, my husband had no more irritation at the injection site.

i did my thighs.  i switched sides every week.  at first i had red spots from the injection site.  then about at 6 weeks i never got a red spot again.  i guess my thighs got used to the interferon.  drink a lot of water.  it really helps with sx.  good luck.  belle

I always let my shot get to room temp. I didnt get a rash until about four months into it. showed it to my Dr. and just said to put hydrocortsone cream on it and that took care of it......and make sure you are switching the spot from one side to another, had to use my thigh twice, didnt like it at all, didnt have the skin to grab onto and didnt feel like I had as much control.

That happen to me, also. I did as flcyclist did and also I let it get to room temp before injecting, that seem to help.  Showed it to my doctor after the first two injections and she was not concerned.  Good luck

Thank you. I gave it a little tap of wheatgrass juice last night from powder for a minute or two to see if the red, which isn't bad would calm down. Must have left a little residue behind as I could feel it in the puncture hole about 5 minutes later. Wiped it off properly and is just reddish.

Not uncommon to occur.  I alternated from one side of the stomach to the other.  The injection spot sometimes would get a little rashy, so I moved around a little to avoid that area.  If it lasts more than a few weeks or gets very inflamed, bring it to your tx doctor's attention.
