Interesting story about Scherring-Plough, and open post

I came across this story today, and wanted to pass it on.. Many told me that my they did not believe my thoughts, or theory on Dr's, and thought this article was definately worth a read!! Exactlt what I have been saying for awhile. Dr's do not rx the best drug, just the one they recieve the bonus from, or sold their soul to!! Scherring-Plough also has lawsuit against them for cheating Medicaid. They did not provide them with the lowest cost, for treatment. Great company huh?? That article is on same website listed a few stories down.

WOW! I love the way you express your views, It is the way I would like to do it also, but I am not a fact/date gathering person and I try not to generalize blame by throwing around labels(except the die hard republican one, ;-}). People like me need people like you who can bring out facts, their possible accuracy due to its source and motive and present it in a nonthreatening, accusatory manner for us to assess.
Our country loves labels and part of our problem is that we use them to simplify the complexity of our problems. Liberals and now treehuggers have become dirty words and labels thrown around to shut up dissenters. Animal rights activists are now terrorists, dissenters=antiamericans or wimps and cowards if it is directed to France.  Racist if you point out the loopholes in the antidiscrimination laws, anti seniors if you try to encourage driver testing for the aged, and on it goes...
balance is what we seem to be lacking; balance between "developers" and the environmental destruction(why are our needs above that of the other species everytime?), in the end a "Silent Spring" might be the outcome of this inbalance; there is a lack of balance bt the poor and the wealthy, bt profit and greed, bt discipline and abuse, balance seems to be the "unreachable star".  You get an organization that tries to correct an imbalance and the pendulum swings to the absurd extreme (ADA is one good example). when a 500 yr old castle is required to modify its access by building elevators, it is absurd. when we have twenty empty handicapped spaces in a crowded parking lot is ridiculous, their attempt to a balance created a bigger one.  I truly don't believe we will achieve balance, because money talks louder and common sense is deceased.

Let's address our problems without labeling our opponents for the sake of ending a disagreement in our favor.
Keep up the good fight those that have the energy to do so now.

I suggest a celebrity death match some place. It would fun.

Look, no institution is perfect. I agree that a lot of class action suits (McDonald's coffee for one) are moronic, but things like affirmative action started as a way to provide better (and temporary) access for individuals who had been denied it by states and the US govt. Feminazis are not the cause of all that is wrong in the world. In fact, I kind of like the changes that women have forced in society.

Some facts I would like to quote:
Stocks were low for 3 years of the current administration.

The entire media is at fault for rolling over and playing dead to this administration. What happens when a real reporter in Ireland asks tough questions? They attack her not the fact that she asked questions that the US public, if no other, is entitled to ask.

Actually, we all agreed with you more or less on the pharmaceutical company, it was only after C13 that politics came into it. Try to remember that we disagree with facts and that expressing this disagreement is not the same as attacking the messenger.

i agree with you on the Saudi royal family. I am not advocating aid to the Saudis. I am advocating a systematic attempt to remove their sources of money by finding other oil sources.

The Arctic Oil Reserves have 6 months of oil. Is that worth the damage to, yes, an ever-shrinking amount of unbuilt-up land?

I am not in favor of terrorism. I am not in favor of chopping off peoples' heads.  I think fundamentalists of all sorts are trying to return the world to a vision of something that never really existed and is doomed to failure and something I would oppose on general principals. I don't like to see Americans dying, especially when these are patriotic men and women whose patriotism is being exploited and who are suffering for what a lot of evidence (including the govt's own memos and documentation) shows to be a lie. And I hate that the government wants to remove more and more freedom in order to protect it.

Anyway, I love to see you get all upset. Sort of like Chaney when someone asks him about sweetheart deals or providing access to public documents. Sort of like Bush when someone asks him a question he can't answer with a stirring phrase. Sort of like Rumsfeld when anyone questions, well anything.

Rage on, Snook man. This is America--you can't have me shot and I can't have you shot, no matter how much we disagree. I like it that way and I will fight to protect it.

More rambling from tthe loon!! HA HA HA!!
By the way, what you said about our founding fathers, was right on point!! Yes, they where all different politically, and worked together to make this a greater place. Today,we have forgotten totally what we are trying to achieve, a functional better place to live!! I believe the reason we can not work together now, is everyone is only looking out for self interest. The founding fathers created the constitution as a guideline, and not to be abused. Today, we have people that abuse the constitution and are justified. Do you think these same founding fathers had that in mind?? Would they have not ammended it?? What they created, worked, but is our enemy now. Too many people justify their actions based on it, even though it is unhuman. Then, it is easily overlooked, in Clintons case?? What kind of guidelines are we supposed to follow??

Oh ****, hide the republicans are coming!!! The republicans are coming!!
I do agree with you that no one is perfect, we are human, and that is our flaw by nature. I also agree that Unions, and institutions are currupt. Unions are ridiculous!! A leagal mob of thugs. They cause more harm than good, based solely on greed and laziness. Their good tactics cost higher prices for everything, boy thanks!!
Yes, Regan was honored as a hero, and why?? Other presidents have done more. He was the reason for most of the defecit!! Can we say affirmative action?? Boy, did you ever think the bag boy with no education or experience, would be the manager just because of color?? Publix supermarkets just had a class action lawsuit, because one black man said that there was not enough black mangers. Every black person that works for the company recieved a check for $375, and now the prices reflect the payout!!! Free programs are destructive, and a waste of money. Too much of the funding goes to administration, and members of their families or friends. The people that truely need the aid never recieve it. As for the current Bush, has he created the defecit?? Are we not feeling right now, and all this caused because of some down syndrome idiot named Clinton?? The economy is still booming.Realestate is at the highest prices ever, and people still buying, and investing. Stocks are still high, except when the media runs a scare story about terrorism, everyone sells. We are allowing these Arabs to effect the entire stucture in the US.
As for oil, we are dependeent on the middle east. Now if Norway shuts down, we will definately feel the effect. Yes, there is only a few in those countries that are rich, but rich is not the word, filthy rich is more like it!! Billions, hiding in their private castles. That is why we are over there. To try and place a government in place that will use the revenue from oil production to better the country, Make a democracy, and give something back to its people. Of course there will still be greedy people out for their own, but it will surely be better than a dictatorship!!! I believe what your saying is that we should not be over there, but just send aid?? Would that ever be dipersed?? Would greedy dictator not just pocket the aid as isn't that what has been happening for decades?? We have enough oil reserve here in the US to supply our needs. There are also many untapped wells that we are not allowed to drill, because treehuggers do not allow the oil companies to drill new sites, so they are forced offshore, which makes the cost per barrel higher.. So it does have a price, and the middle east is something we can not just let be exploited. Most of the funding that Al queda recieves is from the royal families in Saudi Arabia, and Iran, just to keep them from blowing up there own people, and causing terrorism there.. I do watch Fox news, and lots of talk radio shows. I have steered away from CNN, as they are so liberal and cause as much bias and terrorism threats as the Al Queda themselves. The senator, John Kerry that your obviously voting for, where has he been?? Does he not have a elected responsibility to sit for senate votes?? He has missed 84% of this years meetings and votes.. Imagine the laziness, and desructive self intentions if ever put into higher power. Like Clinton, giving out pardons to murderers, and embezzlers, the day he left office.
No one or nothing is perfect, and that is why we have a democracy of the people made up of all voices and outlooks. If it is not working, you blame the president?? Why not blame congress, or the house. That is where the laws and ideas start?? Write your congressman, and hassle him to do his job!! Don't point the finger at one man, you state you do not like bullying, right?? Again, here I posted a story about a currupt pharmacutical company getting caught, and I got attacked on politics. If you are so out spoken, and want to make things right, voice yourself where it can do good. Write your local mayors, congressman, and let them know how you feel. People do need to be heard, to make the changes. Good day, Snook

I don't disagree that the idea of rehabilitation and social engineering has not worked. The New Deal did work but if you read the papers of the time, Roosevelt was worse than the devil. Unions are the reason the work week is 40 hours, not 48. But all institutions need to change and unions are no different.

But I would lay a little blame on the non-liberals as well. I'd say Lee Atwater and Carl Rove have as much or more to blame for the current state of American political antagonism as any do-gooders. (Lee Atwater died repenting his tactics--does that tell you anything?) I'd look at the (sainted) Ronald Reagan and the current Bush as the two presidents who created the largest deficits in American history without the help of Democrats (who are the party of "fiscal irresonsibility").

As for oil, in my opinion, the best solution is renewable energy. Take 70% of the oil money away from the Middle East and poof, there goes the funding for terrorists as well as the importance of that part of the world. The Middle East history is one of enormous wealth (spice trade, silk trade, oil) coupled with periods of poverty when the tides of commerce shifted. In every case, the wealth is concentrated in a few families.

Snook, the biggest problem I have with American politics these days is that name calling and spurious facts have replaced any kind of debate. The Founding Fathers were not some band of angels, working as one. They argued, there were cliques, parties, conflicting interests and opinions and they still worked together to create a country that was not perfect, but was the best attempt yet seen.

Yet, in this country, if you disagree with the President or the neocon analysis of anything, even if you are a loyal Republican like McCain, the machine seeks to destroy the person and not the ideas. Say what you like, it was the Rebuplicans who perfected that strategy, not the Democrats. Look at the facts, Snook man, not the ravings of any TV shouting head. It is so much easier to reduce everyone to stereotypes.

I'd love to call you all the names I have stored up. We could insult each other till we both ran out of breath. But I'd rather beat you with real-world information than having a better insult. You can shout about liberals and I can shout about neoconservatives, but unless we are prepared to exterminate every one who disagrees with us, we're all gonna have to find a way to live together.
