Interferon Injection

Hi Everyone,
I am almost 12 weeks into therapy, and im not sure if I am injecting correctly because I have noticed several times while injecting i bleed a little.  I was advised to pinch my skin and inject at 45 degree angle.  A couple of times I have noticed after injecting i bleed a little as if i pricked myself.   Not sure if this is okay...other times there is no bleeding at all.....feedback please!

Libra...  Don't worry, you are fine.  During my 48 injections, I'd say that I had more times that I had some blood than times that I didn't.  I was doing my injections correctly but I'd still get blood.  I am SVR.

Totally normal for a little blood to come out - try injecting a bit more straight on, that was the recommendation we received. You could also ice the spot a little before injection....

Capillaries is what causes the blood, no problemo.  I called genetech for a member who was in Pakistan who had the same question.  Take a cotton call hold it on the injection sight for a minute.  That should take care of it.

review your film and see if this is what u are doing. i found going straight in and dont remove til a few secs after med is out of syringe. actually i inject in hip and never had a rash there or a spot, bleeding or sensitivity. when in doubt your doc office has training nurses im sure. i doubt u are jeopardizing tx but u want it to be smooth as possible. good luck, babs
